CRUSH THIS FLEA WHO INVADES MY CASTLE!

Sexy, sexy Richter. Who isn't even in it. WTF.

So, recently I bought Castlevania: Harmony of Dispair. For a multiplayer arcade game, it's good. I like it. I also love the choice of characters. I wish Richter Belmont was a playable character, but I've got Alucard and Soma Cruz, so I'm happy. :3

Since it was designed to be played with more than one person (preferably 6 people), I found that the game is really hard when playing alone. The bosses take a long time to defeat. It's a real shame the game doesn't support local co-op as I would've loved to play the game with my brothers; would've at least made it easier.

Image only slightly related.

I also bought Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light the other day and I have to say, it's a really fantastic game. I'm really impressed, I didn't expect it to be this good, I love it. The puzzles can be pretty challenging and make me feel all smart when I finally figure out what to do (lolololololol). The combat's fun, the weapons are awesome and there's collectibles and achievements (lots of re playability, yay!). I'm playing it through on single player at the moment, I'll try co-op (which is apparently much more awesome than single player) when I'm done. :3

Hmmm, it's been a long time since I last updated, so this post will probably end up being a long one.

I've started watching anime again. I found a series called "Lucky Star" and it's actually really good. Nothing major really happens in it. The series is about the lives of four girls that attend high school and focuses mainly on their random conversations and, well, average life for a Japanese high school student. I love the fact that I can relate to the main character; she loves MMORPG's (well, I used to anyway), fighting games, anime and has action figures all around her room; so a complete otaku really. She's adorable. Lucky Star has managed to make me laugh quite a few times, it's gotta be my new favourite anime. :D

I still have Street Fighter II V, Street Fighter Animated Series (the American cartoon, can't wait to watch that monstrosity), Devil May Cry (the animated series) and the two Evangelion films (End of Evangelion and I forget the name of the other one). I'll get around to them soon.

So, I went on a big shopping trip and spent all my money (*presses "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" button*) but I've added a lot more comics to my collection, which is awesome. I love having something to read when it's late at night and I'm too tired to get my ass kicked in whatever game I decide to play (tiredness = me sucking at games => ragequit lolol).

Need moooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar.

Shiny.

I've also picked up Metroid Prime Trilogy (which is pure win in a box, OMG it's SO goooowd) and Metroid Fusion (also awesome). Speaking of Metroid, I picked up an issue of Nintendo Gamer and it came with Metroid goodies! *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*

THIS was the reason I bought the magazine. Not because of the pretty posters or other stickers, but a goddamn Metroid sticker. OMG such adorable. They have the stickers in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and I wanted one; think of how happy I was when I found an IRL one!

My Wiimote is now pretty-fied. Shame about the big, fat NGamer label in the middle. I later found out that if I pre-order Metroid: Other M from Play.co.uk I'd get a Metroid Wiimote sticker, a prettier one too, without some ugly label in the center. Shame.

And a pretty poster. It's supposed to be a Metroid: Other M poster, except Nero's being greedy and blocking the bottom part of the poster.

Like so.

Also got a copy of Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes, and if it's as good as Time to Kill was, then I'll be very happy indeed. Time to Kill was a game of pure epicness.

Also, also. Adorable. IF YOU BOOP HIM ON THE TUMMY HE MAKES NOISES. OMG.

What else have I done recently? I got obsessed with Left 4 Dead 2 for a while and ended up joining a clan because of it. But my Live's run out and my connection sucks so I haven't been able to play. Bawwwww.

WHAT IS A MAN?!

Both Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Castlevania: Harmony of Dispair are shaping up to be both completely awesome and yet so completely different. I'd say I'm more looking forward to Harmony of Dispair due to it's old style (well from Symphony onwards) look and the fact that some of my favourite characters are in it. I'm looking forward to playing as Alucard and Soma Cruz and here's hoping the unannounced character is Richter Belmont. Although, I can see it being either Simon or a completely new character instead.

I've never really been a fan of the 3D Castlevanias, they just played and felt too different from the 2D ones and the 2D Castlevanias were where the party's at. Although, I did enjoy Castlevania 64, but I was young and I enjoyed playing any game as a kid (so either my standards are now higher, or games really were better in that era. Ooor maybe that's just my nostalgia talking).

Is it bad that I know the whole beginning dialog to this and say it along with them? It's kinda like those people who've watched a film so many times they can say the lines along with the actors... yeah that is pretty bad then. :/

Writing this post has made me want to go do a speed run through Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I'll have to do that tonight. It's probably my most well known and played through game of all time. I'll see if I can do both a speedrun straight to the final boss (skipping all the unnecessary bits) and then a full 200.6% map completion. Posting results of course. I don't believe I've ever done a speed run before.

Anyway, enough of Castlevania. I received Tomb Raider: Saga of the Medusa Mask (graphic novel) in the post. Bought it for £2.75, free p&p. BARGIN! :D
I finished reading it through yesterday, it's a really good story arc, I love the Tomb Raider comics. It's just a shame the second series has been delayed when it was supposed to be out about 3/4 years ago. Also, only 4 graphic novels were made and they only went up to the comic #20. There were #50 comics altogether (not including one shots, crossovers, minis, etc), so I can either wait for the other graphic novels to come out (since the last one came out 7 years ago, it's unlikely unless the second series comes out), buy them all in individual comic books form (pricey, hard to locate them all and knowing me, I'd want a specific cover, so I'd have to wait until that one popped up) or I could get the Tomb Raider Compendium (would set me back around £150, but it contains all 50 comics so it seems like the best option).

I still need Merlin Stone or Mystic Artifacts (I have no idea why two graphic novels were created with the same comics contained in them. Who knows they could be different. Same happened to volume 3 aswell. Strange) which is volume 2. So, I'm slowly building up my comic book collection, it's not the greatest collection ever, due to me not having the money to expand it right now, but it's still a semi-decent size:

Most of my collection just seems to be the comic book adaptations of my favorite games. The Street Fighter comics are bloody amazing though.

And these are my comic books. Mainly Deadpool Team-up. I saw them in the comic book store one day and thought that they were a one off type thing. So I bought one. Then I kept finding more of them and bought them too, only to discover that they're coming out in graphic novel form anyway (should've guessed). I'd prefer to have them in graphic novel form but never mind. I didn't really like the Deadpool Team-up comics though, they weren't very good in my opinion. The Zapata Brothers one is pretty good as is the Ghost Riders one. U.S. ACE is decent and IT! The Living Colossus is bloody aweful. I've yet to actually read the Venom ones but they look pretty good.

No idea why I bought Wolverine & Deadpool, as they're just reprints of comics already released (Cable & Deadpool, Secret Invasion, etc). I'll be getting all the separate story arcs at some point anyway. The Marvel Heroes came free in a newspaper. Lol. Actually haven't read it yet either. The first half of it is a comic and the second half is games and puzzles for little children. What's not to love?!

HADOUKEN!

Well it was my birthday the other day and I got me a new phone. One with a decent camera, which makes I can take LOADS of pictures! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Anyway, I just wanted to continue with the last post I did and provide pictures of all the lovely things I bought at MCM. It was pretty dark when I took the pictures so they're not the best quality but nevermind.

To the left is the lovely little pink Chun-Li, in the middle is my new favourite action figure Kyo Kusanagi. He is SO pretty. <3 And on the right is the Chun-Wheee I picked up from Gamestation. Yum yum.

Here's Sun Shang Xiang's weapon from Dynasty Warriors 6. So adorable. In front of it are a few badges I picked up from the Koei stand last year. They're of Sun Jian, Sun Shang Xiang and Cao Cao. Also, behind the weapon is a little dog tag of Sun Shang Xiang.

These are the two artbooks I picked up from the Techmo-Koei booth. They for Dyansty Warriors 5 and 6.

And here is one of the pages from the Dynasty Warriors 5 book. Every character from the game has two pages like that. It's so beautiful. I bloody love Sun Shang Xiang. :3

Aaaaand, that's it.

So, let's see. I've realized I've got a massive Street Fighter obsession at the moment. It happens, I'm usually obsessed with at least one thing at a time. It keeps me going. :p

I end up playing Some Super Street Fighter IV at least once a night. I'm getting pretty good at it. I've gotten pretty decent at Chun-Li. I was also playing around with Sakura last night and was experimenting with Focus Attacks and Focus Cancels. Having the ability to do them really brings you on the right track to becoming a top tier player. I need to learn how to do some more combos though. Plus, I would love to compete in a high-end tournament, really would.

I've also started reading through the comic book series again. I love UDON's comics, their Street Fighter comics are fantastic and they portray the characters so well. I'm staill watching Street Fighter II V, some of it's getting a bit silly but it's still alright. Also watched The Ties That Bind (SFIV anime) again a little while ago. It's good stuff, Sakura and Ken are being adorable as usual.

Mmmmmm, Street Fighter. <3

Ore no... KACHIDA!

So, I started Dead Space the other day. It's really good, I'm enjoying it. It reminds me of Resident Evil and a little bit of Tomb Raider at the same time. It's not really scary, it's more jumpy with horrible things running and jumping at you from several directions. You can't even blind fire shots into them either, the best way to kill them (without draining your ammo resources) is to shoot off their limbs, which I'll admit is kinda cool. I'm looking forward to Dead Space 2 now and the on-rail shooter. I bloody love on-rail shooters.

I've started watching Street Fighter II V which is absolutely fantastic. I'm almost enjoying it more than Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. Almost. It's just what Street Fighter is all about, Ryu and Ken (among others) travelling the world in search of a challenge. While there's a few things about it that annoy me, it's too entertaining for me to really care about (Ken is NOT a red head). And I got to see Ken's bum. That's always nice.

I went to the London MCM Expo last Saturday. It was pretty fun, met up with a few friends, hung out and bought some pretty things. Unfortunately, I didn't get to cosplay this time around, will make sure I do for the October one though. :3

Not got a camera available, so here's the best images I could find:

I picked the lovely Kyo Kusanagi up for £15. Seriously, those pictures do not do him any justice, he is GORGEOUS IRL. I really love him, he's my new favourite figurine. He's even got a removable flame attached to his hand. It's awesome.

I really couldn't believe it when I found him though. I spotted him tucked at the back behind the counter, otherwise I'm sure he would've sold straight away. The popular characters always go fast.

ORE NO... KACHIDA!

I also got an adorable Chun-Li for £8. (I swear there are no good pictures on the internets).

Box art

I got the pink varient of this Chun-Li. I don't think this version was ever released in blue. There's three pictures below her. The left one is the one I have (in pink), the middle one came in blue and the right one came in green. Same goes with Cammy. Good stuff.

This is my second Chun-Li figure now (WTF I don't even have a Ken or a Sakura yet?! D:), the other one was the new NECA ones and I picked that up in Gamestation for about £3. £3?!?!?!?!?! They were selling them at MCM for £20 (they usually go for around £10 though), bargin or what!

She's pretty scary but she's cute at the same time, so it's all good.

I also stopped by the Tecmo-Koei booth (and they ALWAYS sell their shit mega cheap) and picked up Sun Shang Xiang's Dynasty Warriors 6 weapon (the bow and arrow) and two character profile, Japanese art books (one was Dynasty Warriors 5 and the other Dynasty Warriors 6). The books were £5 and £7 respectively which was absolutely amazing. They were really pretty, hardbacked, A4, Japanese and had two pages for each character in the game (one page rendered models and character info, the other was a full page character art. Really pretty stuff), vehicle models, maps and tactics. So amazed at the price. If it were anywhere but Koei, they'd be about £30 each.

Second row, third one. Imma really have to find a camera to take pictures. The little weapon cost about £6/£7 If I remember right.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that's all the shit I bought. Really wished I could've dressed up though, but alas. I'm surprised I didn't have a go on any of the games. WTF. Ended up just hanging around with people. I really wanted to try the new Samurai Shodown though. :<

Ah well, excited about the next one. Gonna get me a sewing machine! :D

I say "Awesome" too much

Looks like I'm going to have a VERY tough decision to make come the end of the year. Why, you ask? Well, let's see. I've been after a pretty statue (or just something very pretty to look at) for a while now. I've happened upon this awesome (I said awesome again. And again, just there) Deadpool statue, which is due out the end of the year. This'll set me back £100 or so.

Then there's the beautiful Jill Valentine, due out around the end of the year too. I do love BSAA Valentine, and it's Hot Toys too. Look at the detail on that! This'll cost me around £150.

THEN, there's this GORGEOUS Lara Croft statue ALSO out at the end of the year. For £230.

No way am I going to be able to buy all 3 of them, so now I'm stuck. Thank god they're not bringing out a Ken statue or a Sakura one. Then I'd be royally screwed. I'm having to pick between my favourite franchises here! D:

HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!

Super Street Fighter IV. Bought it on release day and got a free, mega huge t-shirt from Gamestation since I'd pre-ordered with them. OMFG, Godlike game is godlike. Not only does the game come with an additional 10 characters, all of them are unlocked too!

I'm loving the new online play system. The ability to set up lobbies to play Team Battles and the Endless Battle system against friends is fantastic. Not only that, but the Ranked Matches are the same set-up as the SFIV which is just so perfect. If Dead or Alive 4 was set-up like that, I'd play it so much more often (I hated having to join a lobby and wait for ages to get a go at battering the SSS rank).

Decided on using Ibuki as my new main; she has so many moves it's unbelievable. I was never much of a fan of hers during Street Fighter 3, but it looks like I'll be able to play her now when I go back to that game. :3 I'm also really liking Abel too and his sexy, sexy new ultra. But other than that, the new characters are really fun to play as.

AND THE BONUS STAGES <3

Speaking of Street Fighter, I was picked on Capcom Unity to write a blog post on Street Fighter II and why I thought that it deserved to be Capcom's retro idol. I think it turned out pretty well. Blog post here: http://www.capcom-unity.com/jay-d/blog/2010/05/10/street_fighter_ii_-__retro_and_nostalgia_awesomeness

Let's see. I started Lego Star Wars, that game is so full of win. LEGO R2! <333 Almost finished the original trilogy and then I have to go and complete the prequel trilogy. Star Wars is so great.

Also got me the latest issue of Wolverine & Deadpool. NOTHING can beat symbiote Deadpools. My god. I REALLY need to get that big, ultimate volume (18 issues D:) of Cable & Deadpool. Every comic I've read so far from it has been absolute and pure, unfiltered win.

I also need to have another play through of Resident Evil: Code Veronica. The story and gameplay is just so epic (and Claire is so lovely <3). I just end up playing the Darkside Chronicles version, which is also so much win.

Only a couple more weeks at school left and 2 more exams to go. Hopefully Gamestation will ring me up soon and offer me a job. *sigh*

And I can't help but watch this video every once in a while because it's so god damn awesome. Man, if Virtua Fighter really WAS like that, it'd be one AWESOME game. It's not just the movesets or the characters, it's the heavy hitting impacts that the moves make. That's the part I really like about it. I'm actually wondering if you can get that Ken outfit in the game. Not much of an Akira fan so I wouldn't know. It's kinda sad how it's better than the actual game though. lolololol. No, seriously though, I loved Virtua Fighter 5.

What IS this place?

So, it's getting closer to the release of Super Street Fighter IV and I'm really excited! I pre-ordered my copy at Gamestation a little while back because I love Gamestation <3 So, looks like Imma be getting me a free Guile t-shirt (which won't fit D:). I was originally going to pre-order at ASDA since they were supposed to be offering a Ken t-shirt with pre-orders, but they didn't know what I was on about when I spoke to them so whatever.

I've also recently been loaned a bunch of games from the lovely, lovely boyfriend <3 which is awesome. Two of which are Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. I completed the first one the other day and really enjoyed it. Played through the entire game as my lovely, overpowered Deadpool which was so fun. I love Deadpool. :3

Started the second one last night and it's SO much better. OMGOMG loving it. I can't wait to get Deadpool back on the team along with Venom (both of which I have to unlock D:). No worries though, I'll manage for a while.

Also got House of the Dead 2 & 3 (HotD2 = best on-rail shooter ever in the history of ever. I love it <3). Something that bugs me about Wii on-rail shooters though, why is there never an actual reload button? It's annoying and really costs me having to shift the Wiimote off the screen when my target's in the centre of it. Would've beaten Emperor otherwise. :<

I OWNED at the Dreamcast version. Why? Because that had a bloody reload button. So I'd sit there hammering A and B or RT and B or whatever button combination it was simultaneously and wouldn't even get a scratch. Awesome. Never did own a Dreamcast lightgun though. Shame.

Lul at the above screenshot. Typing of the Dead is an equally awesome game. :p

Let's see. progress report. I've stopped playing Ninja Gaiden 2 for the time being (they have fluffing guns now WTF?!). I'll pick it back up at some point. Good game. Still playing Resident Evil 4, if I remember correctly Ashley's just been kidnapped (again) and I'm near the bit I'm dreading. The part with those horrible creatures that need a special scope to be killed *shudders* Ada hasn't turned up yet nor has Krauser. Hmm.

Bought Soul Calibur 2 last week and OMG SO GOOD. I love it! Although the Weapon Master mode is a pain in the ass (but good fun). 'tis hard :< I unlocked Sophitia though and I'm really happy about that. She's great to play as! (and not annoying like Cassandra).

Started Gears of War for the second time, bloody love that game. <3 I'm even sad enough to wear my Cogtags while I play it. :p Pretty hyped about Gears 3 (also means more merch, squeeee. There was a really lovely hoodie and a few nice t-shirts that I couldn't get first time around :<)

Really want to start Resident Evil (original PS version). Been reading the book (Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy) and it's REALLY, REALLY good. I'm really enjoying that. It describes the first game so well and brings out the personality of the characters. I was never much of a fan of Barry, but reading the book has made me feel so sorry for him and hate Wesker that little bit more. nya. <3

Ikuze!

Gaming

GET HYPE!

Vega's new ultra looks badass and T.Hawk's has a pretty big impact that it's scary. Poor Ken. Abel's os pretty cool too. AND SAKURA'S!! EEEEE! In fact, they're all awesome. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! REALLY, REALLY hyped about Super Street Fighter IV. Definitely my Game of the Year. I can tell :3

SHIPPU JINRAI KYAKU! *Squeals like a fangirl :3*

I started Ninja Gaiden 2 the other day and I'm absolutely LOVING it so far! The action is just so fast (I can't stand slow and clunky hack 'n' slash games D:) and ninja games are usually great fun (like Tenchu and Ninja: Shadow of Darkness. I loved those games *nostalgic sigh*).

And the GORE! OMGZ there's so much of it! It's awesome :3 I'm playing it on Acolyte difficulty at the moment as I know I'd just RAGE if I played it on anything harder. But to be honest, with most hack 'n' slashes and games that let you keep your upgraded health and weapons, it's best just to start on easiest and work your way up as you just KNOW it'll get harder. :3

Anime

I'm in the middle of watching Neon Genesis Evangelion at the moment. I'm really liking it, the only problem is that I don't get to see much of Rei. I'd love to see more of her as I like her but bah. Not too fond of Asuka or Shinji though, so it's Misato all the way for me. She's lovely :3

The storyline is pretty good. 14 year old kids piloting robots that save the world/the part of Japan they're in. I always enjoy a good mecha anime, maybe I should try Gundam. Hmm. That'll give me more of an excuse to play Dynasty Warriors Gundam ^^

Books

I'm just over halfway through with Breaking Dawn. The Twilight saga has been unbelievably amazing so far. I'm not a massive fan of reading, but ever since reading Twilight it's gotten me really interested in it; although I know I'm going to find it hard to find a good book after I've finished with Breaking Dawn. I've enjoyed them too much (although I DID get a few of the Resident Evil novels, so they'll keep me occupied for a little while longer :3)

I've only seen the Twilight film so far. I'm waiting for New Moon to come out on DVD and am planning on seeing Eclipse and the two Breaking Dawn films in the cinema (excited!!). I really enjoyed the first film, it made me like Edward a lot more, I didn't really like him in the book. He came across as a bit of a prick.

I'm still confused as to which team I like better. Usually I would just take the Werewolves side, but Stephenie Meyer's vampires are so much more interesting and likable than the vampires in all other media. I can't help but like them more. At this rate I'll be buying both a Team Edward and Team Jacob t-shirt. *sigh* Nevermind. A Team Cullen shirt would be nice though, as much as I like Edward; Alice, Carlisle, Emmett and Esme (and on occasion, Jasper) are pretty lovely too. I'd love to express my love for all of them ^^ (Excluding Rosalie, the psycho, shit stirring bitch. Unless she gets better towards the end of the book, of course).

What're Ya Buyin'?

Gaming

I started Resident Evil 4 the other day. PS2 version. I've only ever completed Resi 4 once when it was released and that was the Gamecube version. I have no idea why I never played it again after that, I think I was just shocked at the gameplay change from the classic Resi style.

Since I've only completed it once, 5 years ago; I can't actually remember much about the game, so it's like playing it for the first time again. Win, win. AND there's extra stuff at the end for when I complete it (costumes and new missions. I've always wanted to put Leon back in his lovely RPD outfit :3).

Playing this game has made me remember why I love Leon so much. After watching Resident Evil: Degeneration a few times, I began to wonder why I'd ever liked him. Leon seems so cold in that film and without a sense of humour and his face just doesn't look right either. :< Claire on the other hand looks LOVELY (and is lovely. After playing through CV, I've completely fallen in love with her <3). So why couldn't Leon be the same?

Anime

So far, this has been the best ending song to anime that I've seen:

I might actually have to learn that dance, and look like a total fag for doing it. But, hey who cares, the song is damn catchy. I even dreamt about it, it's gotta be the first time I've ever had a song in my dream. ^^

Books

Ordered Resident Evil: City of the Dead the other day from Amazon and it arrived today! I'm really excited about reading it. Resident Evil 2 is my favourite game of all time and the reviews given to the book have all been really good. Aweeesome!

Also, just ordered Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy so I can read that after. Probably going to read them in the order which I like each game most ^^ So Resi 2 first, then Resi 1 and probably either CV or 3 after that. :3
